Several months ago (back in March) I was invited on a bit of a magical mystery trip to Marbella. Myself and some truly charming and fun-loving entertainment/lifestyle/travel journalists were flown to Marbs (!) and treated to luxury beyond words (seriously fab!!) at The Marbella Club.
While the experience was unforgettable fun for us all there was a serious focus too as we discovered. Lord Stanley Fink – possibly Europe’s top investment hedge fund expert and Tory party Treasurer no less, is a recognised and hugely respected philanthropist. Along with a group of leading party organisers and 15 top global charities, he has spearheaded The Global Party – the “party to end all parties”.
Tonight, at the UK launch at the Natural History Museum (London) – VIP guests from the arts, society, entertainment and business will assemble and network (and party!) to kickstart the fundraising main events next week globally at 80 venues (14/15 September).
Having covered many top charity events in my career – from Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara affairs to fashion shows by Naomi Campbell.. this event is so big it warrants a party before THE party!!
The eyes of the world will be watching.. and so will I – very much looking forward to taking part and meeting all those involved again. To boot, Bryan Ferry and others will be performing tonight… this is the stuff dreams are made of!
