BBC Breakfast – Best of TV 2014 & what to watch in 2015

broadchurch 1Collette Walsh – BBC Breakfast. Last year (2014) was a fantastic year for quality TV drama on UK TV. From the first series of Broadchurch through to the staggeringly intense The Fall and The Missing.

I was on BBC Breakfast on Sunday morning taking a look back on the TV highlights but also talking about what not to miss in 2015. That includes the second series of Broadchurch which is set to be a really gripping watch… with some twists and unexpected developments regarding the key members of the cast.

Away from the drama, last year was a good year for family entertainment including Strictly Come Dancing (again) and Great British Bake Off which changed channels from BBC 2 to BBC 1 such is its popularity.

the missingThe talent shows are struggling however and this is largely down to saturation – perhaps we’ve all just had enough of the tired formats? It’s certainly time for something new and original.

British comedy continues to delight on-screen – my personal faves were Cardinal Burns and the surprisingly clever, Bad Education (loved it!). I’ll be looking forward to Peter Kay’s new series Car Share – definitely one to watch.
