Vogue Fashion Night Out – Manchester

Collette walsh and matthew williamson 1The Manchester Vogue Fashion Night Out (FNO) was a resounding success and it was great fun to be back home in Manchester to see so many old (I mean stylish) faces. Manchester itself looked so glamorous – especially the fantastic The Avenue shopping esplanade in Spinningfiels. Here you can shop for designer goodies AND hop over to many of the fab eateries (Australasia, Neighbourhood, Manchester House etc.) within minutes.

Talking of style, among those I chatted to was the brilliant Manchester-born fashion designer Matthew Williamson. It is a small world, but Matthew and I were in the same art year at Loreto College, Manchester. He went on to Saint Martin’s School of Art and is now a global fashion success… and icon! So very proud of him – especially since he is so down to earth still.

Collette Walsh with Simon BowersThat night we also checked out the amazing jewellery fashion show by top jewellery designer and all-round fashionista, Fatz Kassim. Manchester style blogger Simon Bowers was also there – he joined my gang of laydeez in marching ourselves around to practically every shop on the map! Overall, it was great to see Manchester putting on such a good event and with many of the UK’s top fashion journalists in town, I think we did ourselves proud.
